Salary to Hourly Calculator & Chart

Updated October 14, 2026 Tax year 2026

Quick answer

To turn a yearly salary into an hourly wage, divide it by 2,080 (40 hours × 52 weeks). For example, $60,000 ÷ 2,080 = $28.85 an hour. For a rough figure, halve the salary and drop three zeros: $60,000 → $30.

The formulas

ConvertFormula
Hourly → yearlyhourly × hours per week × 52
Yearly → hourlyyearly ÷ (hours per week × 52)
Yearly → monthlyyearly ÷ 12
Yearly → biweeklyyearly ÷ 26
Yearly → semi-monthlyyearly ÷ 24
Yearly → weeklyyearly ÷ 52

Use 2,000 hours instead of 2,080 if you take two weeks off without pay. Do not multiply weekly pay by 4 to get monthly pay: a month has about 4.33 weeks, so that method undercounts your pay by about 8%.
